Effective for new business: December 1, 2011
Effective for renewal business: January 30, 2012
Overall Rate Decrease of 2.1% varied by segment
Dwellings - Average rate decrease of 1.6% (varied by segment)
Tenants (+1.9%) and Condominiums (-10%) - Average rate decrease of 8.8% (varied by segment)
This change benefits policyholders in our target segments. Individual rate impacts will vary based on the policy’s characteristics. We will continue to provide the best rates for the best performing risks.
Enhanced Segmentation
- Higher-valued homes with higher deductibles and no claims will have improved premiums.
- Amount of Insurance - Lower rates for homes valued between $500,000 and $5,000,000.
- Lower loss surcharges for new and renewal business.
- Lower loss surcharges for policies with prior claims.
- Waiver of all weather claims effective 11/01/2011 for all business.
We continue to maintain our best rates for customers with:
- Coverage A of over $750,000.
- Deductibles of $5,000 and above.
- Auto and Home with Fireman's Fund.
